The Pittsburgh Pirates are not exactly known as America’s team. So why is influencer Livvy Dunne now a diehard fan of the Buccos?
She can often be seen posting about the team on social media, and those unaware of the reason may be confused as to how she picked the Pirates out of all the others.
Livvy Dunne Has 1 Obvious Reason to Love the Pittsburgh Pirates
Dunne is dating Pirates star Paul Skenes and has been spotted looking like any other nervous fan during games.
Livvy Dunne is my kind of baseball fan. Agonizing on every pitch. She’s locked in. Imagine what her reactions would be watching Paul Skenes in actual Pirates playoff game. pic.twitter.com/UGo6gxucNA

This may seem like an odd pairing until we remember that both stars met during their time at LSU. Dunne was a famous gymnast, while Skenes made a name for himself after transferring from Air Force. He went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Pirates.
Dunne has left the gymnastics world behind after a successful college career and is making a career out of being an influencer. At the time of writing, she has 7.9 million followers on TikTok and 5.1 million on Instagram. That’s not a bad way to make a living and frees up plenty of time to watch Skenes pitch in person.
Yet her Pirates fandom may not last long, as Skenes trade rumors come up on an annual basis. The Pirates are known for trading their stars at peak value when they can get a nice haul of young, cheap talent in return. That may mean Dunne ends up donning a New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers hat before long.
The good news for her is such a move would only help her own brand be even more visible than it is right now.
